Driven by curiosity.

I am a self-taught artist who has been creating art from the moment I could hold a pencil. Art always has been a fundamental part of my life. Growing up, I struggled to find my identity and often had difficulty knowing my true sense of self. My values, beliefs, likes, and dislikes would shift constantly as I searched for who I was. The only constant in my life was art. It did not matter if I was punk rocker, a prep, a social worker, a mom, an educator, or a woman. With every mask that I tried on, one consistency was that I was an artist.

My inspriation stems from this, as I take great solace in being able to take a subject that otherwise has no meaning, and use color schemes, brush strokes, highlights and shadows in order to bring life to it and give it meaning. I like my art to flirt with the viewer, using subtleties in its composition to bring a dog, a flower, a pair of shoes, or a portait, from a flat 2d image, to a dynamic piece of art that communicates with and inspires its audience. Where others see snow, I see shades of blue, yellow, pink, and green. Where others see water or clouds, I see reflections and colors. In a world where we ignore what is around us in our haste to survive, I invite the viewer to take a step back and feel the beauty, pain, inspiration, love, and emotions that life can inflict on us.

I am the artist that I am today due to the hours, weeks, and years of personal and professional development. I am constantly evolving due to my desire and dedication to push my talent further. My goal is to continually adapt my approach so that my art is as authentic to myself as possible.
